Today, after a brief learning curve on the new ShopSabre CNC router, it was time to turn out the first project. This will be a giant book made from five pieces of 30 lb Precision Board HDU, which I will assemble over a welded steel frame tomorrow. Everything went perfectly. The new machine is noticeably faster and quieter and we are delighted with the first results!
Limited print
Staying in the Hazelnut Inn's Under Hill suite will be a truly memorable experience. As with the North Star suite, we are creating a limited-edition print for our guests to take home. I began work on the original art this afternoon. I have created countless pen and ink drawings through the years and well over one hundred and twenty-five editions of prints. It was good to brush up on my line drawing once more, and I had fun creating a drawing of this truly unique building! You can now book a stay in the Under Hill suite and reserve a limited print for yourself at HazelnutInn.com
Brick a brac
The Under Hill suite features many textures throughout the interior, adding details that tell its unique story. On the outside, the areas under the windows are sculpted to be aged brick, making it logical to sculpt the interior the same way. Peter chose to sculpt the bricks using a herringbone pattern. The result was worth the effort. THis is going to be sweet when it is painted. Stay tuned…
