Two of a kind

Henry was working with me in the studio this morning designing some future projects and noticed some pictures I have on my desk. He asked me when I had taken them, for he mistook them for photos of himself. The pictures were actually of his dad, Peter. At Henry’s insistence, I dug through my vast collection of Henry's pictures as well, and we noted the close resemblance from when they were both days old. They are two of a kind, without a doubt.

Busy artist

It is interesting to watch our grandkids create art. Henry is a very active child but when he works in the studio he becomes still and super focussed. Normally in a rush, time stands still when he is creating. But the instant Henry is done his artwork he goes back to his normal hyper-busy self. Watching Henry work helps me understand myself and how I was growing up.

Roots are done!

It was a landmark day as the sculpting crew did the last of the ceiling tree roots this afternoon. Tomorrow, everyone is eager to begin laying on the concrete mud and sculpting the dirt between the roots. We aren’t sure of how it will look yet, but we are confident we will figure it out in the first few minutes of the day. Then it will be full blast until it is done. Next week we’ll begin laying on the paint! Stay tuned…
