Full house

Each time we've built a new house we take a few extra steps to make it more comfortable and livable. One such effort is to insulate most of the inside walls to make the house more soundproof. It is just one more way to make a house more comfortable and liveable. The special insulation has the added benefit of making the house more resistant to flame spread in the walls. In the last few days I've been hauling the insulation into the house. It took three trips with the trailer to bring it all home. Now it is stacked all over the house, ready to stuff between the studs in the next week.

We are almost ready for drywall.

More arched ceilings

In the house today it was also a busy day. Decisions were made about where the security system would be installed and how it would all work. Matt was busy screwing boards to the curved hall ceiling.

The hallway is a long one, stretching 54 feet from one end to the other. The arched ceiling looks pretty cool and when it gets the heavy crown molding and LED lighting above it will look even better. The insulation is now going into all of the inside walls now as well, changing the look of the house interior in a big way once more.

By days end tomorrow the hallway should be almost ready for concrete.
