The Imagination Corporation is well known throughout the sign industry for the wild and creative textures we include in almost our work. We purchased our CNC router with the specific goal of doing the same detailed and textured work we had done previously by hand.
Today, many of our textures are created with the help of our CNC router. Our fellow sign makers often ask how they can incorporate these same textures into their own work.
In response to these requests, we have assembled several collections of bitmap textures. You can easily add dimension and texture to your routed signs by using these unique textures along with your favorite 3D routing program.
By using the bitmaps in conjunction with your 3D routing software, knarly driftwood, fine sandblasted woodgrain, woven strips, checkered squares, and a whole lot more are suddenly possible. The textures can be combined as well for countless variations. Instead of using a dusty old sandblaster, it's now easy to generate virtually any texture on a CNC router.
TEXTURE MAGIC: Classic contains our original 101 bitmap textures (plus a few extra). Each has been proven on real projects. Easily add dimension and texture to your routed signs using these unique textures. Combine these texture bitmaps with all of the other things that a 3D routing program is capable of and suddenly anything you can imagine is possible.
TEXTURE MAGIC: Woodgrain contains 37 unique woodgrain bitmap textures in both horizontal and vertical formats. It also includes 15 board modifier textures in both formats. These can be used to enhance these woodgrains or warp and bend the boards controllably. All told, there are more than 100 files that can be combined and manipulated to create an unlimited number of effects.
To use the bitmap files they are imported into 3D routing programs and applied to your reliefs. The routing program reads the values of the bitmaps and automatically assigns routing depths to the project based on the bitmap file. Black does nothing, White areas are raised to a numeric amount entered via the keyboard. The various shades of grey are raised according to their value. The end result are some fabulous woodgrains, bumpy surfaces, weaves or anyting else we can imagine - all done with a few clicks of a mouse.

With the addition of paints and glazes the textured surfaces instantly come alive! Light and shadows naturally enhance the three dimensional routed surfaces just as they would if you used the real materials you seek to duplicate.
