More high tech

Ryan from C and S Electric finished the bulk of the work on the Heico Lighting LED circuits, transformers and dimmers. The nerve center up in the HVAC room is now complete. Today Ryan worked in the attic above the mechanical room on the second junction point of the LEDs on this end of the house.

The wires are threaded through looms with the junction points in proper connection blocks. All of it will be programmable and able to be controlled remotely from our iPads.

Janis & I realy appreciate the care and attention to detail the whole crew from C and S Electric have put into our house!

It is all pretty cool!

Wainscot color

With the waincot paneling largely finished and the dust starting to settle it is time to start in on the painting of those areas. Today Bec did some test panels for us to look at and we settled the design of these areas. The bedroom final selection was a darker shade of purple. The light of the room plays nicely with the texture.

The living and dining room areas will be the browns. Originally we had thought a darker version of the colors might be right but after painting the actual wall we decided a lighter version looked better.

Slowly it comes together.

High tech house

The Heico LED lighting system is very high tech. The lights themselves are dead easy to hook up... simply thread a wire though the module and stick them in place. There are no screws to tighten or hookups neccessary. The power travels to the LED light by electromagnetic induction. With the hallway being more than fifty feet long the lights are grouped, eighteen to a circuit. The wires snake back to two panels, one up stairs with the HVAC system and the other panel in the attic above the mechanical room.

Our electrician from C and S decided to sort the myriad of wires nice and neat through a raceway with the many transformers fastened to a large electrical box. Everything is done through contacts rather than marrettes which could come loose and possibly short out. At the very least it will be far neater than any other way. Should there every be a problem in the system it will be easy to isolate and replace a single component.

It is getting to be a very high tech house.
