Cabinet install - day two

The installers from Marr-Tech Kitchens had a busy day. They installed the rest of the cabinet boxes, started on the crown moldings, drawer fronts and doors. They got pretty far by quitting time. They'll be back early next week to finish things off and also install the fancy door handles. The cabinets through the house are looking pretty spectacular. Here's a sneak peek at a bit of the work they've done so far...

Kitchen

The back door 'mud room' is looking fine with a nice set of cabinets.

Janis' office is ready for the desk top.

The main bathroom has plenty of storage.

Janis' sewing room has the massive storage she has needed for years. The plastic tubs will soon be used for other things.

The folks at Marr-Tech Kitchens are doing a wonderful job. We can hardly wait until all the pieces are in place!

Cabinet install - day one

Today the cabinet installer wasted no time in putting in the cabinets. He started in the kitchen.

By liunch time it was starting to look like a kitchen.

By quitting time the bulk of the work putting up the cabinets was done in the kitchen.

Tomorrow's task is to continue through the rest of the house with the cabinet boxes... and then start in on the many, many drawer fronts and doors.

Janis is starting to plan where everything is going to go... there is PLENTY of room! Stay tuned...

More light

Yesterday the last pieces for the Heico LED lighting arrived and were installed. This morning we fired up the LED lights in the long hallway for the first time. The light washed over the long curved ceiling wonderfully, brightening the whole area with a soft but bright light. These lights too are fully dimmable and programmable and will be remotely controlled from our iPads. The lights add a great deal of magic to the house - much more than the photographs show.

I can hardly wait to see how the LED's will look in the living and dining room. Stay tuned...
