As the painting of the ceilings and walls gets finished it is time to turn our attention to the floors. Today we checked our measurements one last time and then ordered the massive quantity of ceramic tiles we will need to the main floor of the house. In a couple of weeks we will take delivery of five pallets of tile.
Upstairs, the bulk of the flooring is engineered cork/laminate, designed to look great but be easy care. Phoebe's play room was the first to be ready and so today my job was to tackle that floor. I even read the directions. Twice. It simply snapped together (or so it said). The brochure showed a beautiful model effortlessly laying pieces of flooring. How hard could it be. Well, it wasn't nearly that easy - at least not for me. It took me five hours of working up quite the sweat to get the floor down. It looked great when I was done and even passed Janis' and Bec's careful inspection.
Next up is the trim throughout the room. We are almost ready for Phoebe to begin moving in her many things.
