Making it safe.

It is a very good feeling to be at the stage where we are doing so many finishing steps in the house project. The cabinets are now done. The trim is done on the lower floor except for the around the windows and front and back doors. It's looking pretty cool!

Upstairs things are coming along too. Today Phoenix & Annie came to start the installation of the railing. It is a very simple design (for now) but will get some butterfly embellishments shortly to make it unique and special.

We are counting the days until we move in.

House full of trades

The trades people seem to come in bunches, making for a busy space. This morning the two finish carpenters were the first to arrive. Brent's first task was to install and trim out the five pocket doors.

Shortly after the counter top crew from Marr-Tech Kitchens arrived to install the quartz counter tops and sinks. They changed the house a LOT in a short time!

Richard and his helper from Richard's Plumbing and heating also kept busy through the day.

The boiler, hot water tank, pumps and plumbing are all first class equipment installed with a great deal of pride and care. This photo shows the work done to date but there is lots more needed to finish off.

Meanwhile Matt keeps busy painting and other tasks. Here he paints the last of the corner blocks for inside the rooms.

There's other things also on the go...  I'll be reporting on those a little later.

LED's on!

I spent a good part of my day up on a ladder installing the LED's into the crown molding which the Boughen boys had installed during my absence. Wiring the Heico Lighting LED's is as simple as threading a wire through the modules and hooking up the wires on each end. The electrcial current powers the LED's without any connections.

The living room looks great with only the valence lighting on. It will be wonderful for watching TV and is dimmable (using our iPad) as well.

I also finished the Heico lighting as well through the dining room. It too looks pretty spectacular!

It won't be long now until the carpenter's tools are gone for good. That will mean we can begin serious work on the tile floors. And that will mean the moving in date is quickly approaching. We can hardly wait!
