The last large area to be sculpted on the front of the Hazelnut Inn is all the rock work which will form the series of waterfalls that will flow from the top garden to the road level below. Peter has been busy welding the armature in the last week, forming, cutting and welding many hundreds of feet of steel rod. As the welded structure nears completion we are following with nippers and snippers in hand, carefully forming and tying on the galvanized step lath. The more complex the shape, the better it looks, but that same complexity also makes it a lot more difficult to form and tie on the wire lath. The rock work is still somewhat transparent at this stage but the forms are now clearly visible. This will be an amazing area once we begin sculpting the rock in concrete.
