Drawing my way home

My time at the IAAPA EXPO in Orlando is now complete as I begin my journey home. The purpose of the trip was to gather information and connect with suppliers for upcoming projects. With that information now in hand, it is time to begin a whole new round of concept drawings. I’ve already begun that work as I wait for flights and will continue on the plane ride rather than just sitting for hours and hours and being bored. Sketching, although work, is my favourite way to relax for me and makes time fly. By the time I arrive home late this evening, I’ll have filled numerous pages in my sketchbook and be ready to begin the final presentation drawings tomorrow.

Final day of IAAPA EXPO

It was another busy day of meetings and walking the IAAPA EXPO show floor, and once again, I had a very productive time. When I was done, I headed to Disney World to enjoy a good meal and see some of my favourite places. While I wish I had time to visit a park or two, that was not in the cards this trip. I settled for a stroll around Disney Springs. My time there ended with a delicious Ghirardelli ice cream treat while I watched the sunset. Tomorrow, it is time to head back home.

Day one IAAPA EXPO

I had a great first day at Orlando's IAAPA EXPO (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions). The show boasts over 30,000 attendees and more than 1,200 vendors who are marketing everything you can imagine - and a whole lot more. It sprawls over half a million square feet and takes hours to walk, even at my brisk pace. I managed 22,374 steps on my first day of the show. Along my walk, I had a couple of scheduled meetings, talked with many interesting vendors and suppliers and bumped into six clients along the way. I have three appointments scheduled tomorrow and am eager to see much more. Tonight, I’m going to take it easy and rest my tired feet. :)
