On the way back from the Okanagan last week Janis & I picked up some peaches, tomatoes and some pickling cucumbers. This weekend we spent some quality time together preserving the fruit and vegetables. we know have twenty-one jars of peaches, twenty jars of tomatoes. The cucumbers are soaking in brine for later processing. There will be great eating this winter!
Signs of fall
Summer sure flew by quickly this year and it is hard to believe it is the last day of August already. As I went for my ride on my bike I couldn’t help but notice the leaves starting to accumulate on the path. The temperatures are still plenty warm during the day but at night things are cooling off quickly. Up in the trees everything is still green but it won’t be long until we start to see the fall colours.
Scaley project
We managed to finish sculpting the scales on one side of the submarine and made good progress on the back side as well. There will be about fifty scales in total plus hundreds of rivets which appear to hold them in place. Each piece is sculpted by hand.
