Helpful hands

Juniper and Henry are surrounded with caring adults. Their parents, Aunty Becke, and Uncle Grant, grandma and grampa, live on the same property. Alissa and Matt, our employees are visited often in the shop. Pop Pop (the kid’s other grandfather) also works on property and loves to interact with the kids in the execution of his various jobs. Today Pop Pop was raking leaves and was delighted to have the kids help him with his chores. They surely did not speed up the task but they definitely made it immeasurably more fun!

Back to work!

The shop’s work space is now clear of all the teaching equipment and supplies. Ongoing projects have been pushed back inside and work continues once more. Alissa put the final glazes on the fallen tree feature today. This feature was definitely a team effort from start to finish. The sculpting and painting of the crew really works together and the forked tree looks believable from any angle or distance. Tomorrow it will be pushed out of the shop to make room for the next feature. Stay tuned…

Day of rest - sort of.

After the second weekend of workshops in a row I was ready to get out into nature a bit. Jeff Hartman, my good friend who is visiting from Colorado, volunteered to join me on a couple of exciting rides on the e-bikes. We first did a ride up and down the Vedder River trails, then jumped in the Jeep to go to Hope and a second ride to the Othello Tunnels. The scenery there is truly breathtaking. This is where the first Rambo movie was filmed years ago. We had two great rides covering about forty kilometres in all. It was a good day off!
