Surprise gift!

It isn’t often we see young kids at the theme park trade show but last year one of our long distance friends from the theme park industry brought his two boys to the show. He dropped in for a visit at our booth and his two young boys were particularly fascinated by my drawing which I do as part of our visual presentation. I talked with Aaron and Ethan at length and then dug through my briefcase to find two blank, hardcover sketch books which I carry. I presented them to the boys with the promise they would fill them with their creations. Yesterday, their dad again dropped by our display for a visit. He carried with him five drawings Ethan and Aaron had done for us. The drawings were absolutely delightful and will be treasured! Two of the colourful drawings were custom name tags they had designed for Peter and I. Peter’s featured our company logo while mine had illustrated, wiggly textures though the background along with raised lettering. It was obvious they follow our blog on a regular basis. Thanks so much for the drawings!

Far, far away

We spent the bulk of our day in the new Star Wars Land and I must say it is the right up there with the very best theme work I have ever seen. We were joined by our very good friends Jim and Dana Dawson from Ohio who made the day even more delightful. Jim, like me still has his inner child inside, very much alive and full of life. It isn’t every day that you get to pilot the Millennium Falcon and build a custom light sabre. Every bit of this new land is immersive, eye popping, and oozing with endless detail that tells this exciting and timeless story which I have enjoyed for so many years. Tomorrow, it is back to real work as we begin the first of four days on the IAAPA show floor.
