REAL GOLD!

The final detail on the main sign for the NEB’s signs is the gold leaf on the letters. Kendra did the honours today and the result was spectacular in every way. Many pieces in the shop are finished or nearly so. That means a major shuffle next week as we move the finished pieces out and a new set of armatures back in to get sculpted. Stay tuned…

Wheeling...

Keith has been busy welding up the wheels for a wonderfully fun photo op which will go to Vala’s Pumpkin Patch this summer. The wheels are the first pieces of a full-sized pumpkin coach for the storybook land. The wheels are still plain and will soon sport decorative vines and leaves that intertwine the spokes. As soon as that is done we’ll mount the wheels to the axles and then we’ll begin fabricating the giant pumpkin. Stay tuned as this fun ride comes together…

Painting last feature

The painting crew applied the blended colour coat of paint on the water feature for the North Star suite of the Hazelnut Inn. Tomorrow, the first of the glazes to age the piece will be applied. By week’s end, it will be ready to lift to the garden. The crane is booked for Tuesday morning to coincide with the arrival of the planting soil for the garden. The endless details are quickly coming together as they need to be. There are only seventy-three days left until the open house which is scheduled for June 1. Stay tuned…
