Happy (Canadian) Thanksgiving!

In Canada, we celebrate Thanksgiving in October. At our house, we truly have an abundance for which we are truly grateful! At the top of my list is Janis, who cares for me in every way possible and makes me laugh daily. We celebrated our fiftieth anniversary this past summer. Our kids, Peter and Rebecca, and their spouses, Hailey and Grant, would be next. It is a joy to spend time with them and work alongside them. Three grandkids, Moth Juniper and Henry, bring us endless joy, and we are fortunate to see them almost every day. We have an awesome and talented crew who help us create imaginative projects out in the backyard shop, equipped with state-of-the-art tools. We also have the very best clients who make it possible for us to do our dream projects. Today’s celebration was perfect, with just our immediate family present. It was quiet and low-key, with those we love by our side. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Ready to route!

The new ShopSabre router is awesome, and I’ve been itching to use it. We moved it into place the day before I had my neck surgery, which put all of our efforts to stop temporarily. Thankfully, my recovery went so much faster and smoother than I anticipated. I supervised the electrician doing the hookup, and our crew reassembled the router room after a deep clean. Then, we moved some of our Precision Board HDU stock into a newly fabricated rack. Once all of the ancillary jobs were complete, it was time to mill a new spoil board in anticipation of our first projects next week. Although I’ve been running a CNC router for seventeen years, it was a brand new learning curve as we carefully read the instructions, watched some how-to videos and even talked to the support techs at ShopSabre as they cheerfully helped us unlearn what we knew and learned a new way of doing things. The shiny new wonder machine is now ready to create some magic!
