For more than four years I’ve signed my name grampa dan. While I enjoy my work immensely it doesn’t sum up who I am. Family is a very important and large part of my life. The youngest member of our family is our only grandchild, Phoebe. She spends time at our house most days and when she’s around not much work gets done or at the very least she helps grampa... which amounts to the very samething. Like when our kids were small, Phoebe has been around the shop from when she was days old. She has spent countless hours in my lap as a baby, oftensnoozing while I worked at my desk.

My studio is often littered with her toys and one large drawer in my toolbox has her tools in it - for when Phoebe helps. She loves to paint and sculpt. Phoebe is quick with her broom and dustpan to clean up any mess grampa makes too. Her favorite job is to test drive the projects that frequent the shop.

While working at what I love is a wonderful thing, being a grampa is the very best job in the world!
