For my second CHALLENGE 2010 piece I dug through my sketch books for an idea that had long lived in my mind but had not yet been brought to light. Many years ago I had done some pen and ink drawings of these little street cars that had been phased out of service shortly after I was born - more than 50 years ago. This drawing was done as I relaxed one evening, watching TV with Janis.
For the CHALLENGE 2010 I brought the little project back to life. The design came was done in a few minutes, and the routing file only a little longer. Over the next days, a few minutes at a time I painted one color, one coat at a time. The gold leaf was last for the final sparkling touch. In less than a week of spare minutes I had completed my second piece.
