This morning, bright and early I opened the big MAGIC doors of the shop, backed the truck up to the trailer and hooked everything up. Then after a final check to make sure all the connections were tight, the straps secure and the lights were working it was time to hit the road.
The load travelled well, even at freeway speeds. I kept just under the speed limit and as drivers overtook us there were lots of second looks, thumbs up and big smiles. Traveling with a load of our creations is always a happy adventure.
It took me two hours to get to the ferry, and after a half hour wait it was another hour and a half on the boat. Another thirty five minutes on the road got me to the site. My client was excitedly waiting for us when we arrived. They had a backhoe handy and the load was off the trailer in minutes without a scratch. I wrapped up the straps and checked the trailer connections once more, then it was time to head home once more.
