I needed to design and fabricate one more panel for the trade show in Florida next week. This one was to go in the Precision Board booth to promote a journal which I now write for their website featuring their products which we use and love in our shop. The journal is called ‘Speaking from Experience’. Kellie Miller who I deal with at Coastal Enterprises insisted the panel be small as I am sending it to her in California and she in turn will hand carry it to the Florida show. I had something grand in mind but those ideas were now scaled back... well... to mouse size. That thought inspired the ‘wood’ panel which would now incorporate a MOUSE of course. I created the routing file in EnRoute using a bitmap texture for the woodgrain. Then once it was off the MultiCam I sculpted the little fellow using some sculpting epoxy medium This was allowed to cure overnight.
In the morning I started with the primer first adding a subtle texture to the letters. Once this had dried I put on the base coats and then the glazes. One more night of drying made it ready for the finishing touch... some 23K GOLD on the lettering. The gold added just the sparkle the sign needed. It will be boxed up tomorrow for the rushed trip south.
