Delivery day with one of our projects is always fun and exciting for us. It is the climax of many days and often weeks of work in our shop on a project. Our customers always look forward to the day with great anticipation too. But installing a sign in our own small home town is twice as exciting for everyone! It’s a downright big event - especially for a tiny town like Yarrow.
As we opened the big shop doors our neighbor couldn’t resist coming over to take a closer look. He was immediately recruited to help wrestle the heavy sign onto the flat deck trailer. I didn’t have to tie down the load as we were traveling less than a block and I could go nice and slow. I decided to not let the owner of the restaurant know when I was coming. Some things are best left as a surprise. I pulled up in front of the restaurant... and the excitement was immediate. THE NEW SIGN HAD ARRIVED! I received a big hug from the owner. Customers jumped up from their tables to take a closer look. The people from the businesses around all took notice. Although I was alone I wasn’t worried about help getting the sign into place. We instantly had an eager crew to help. One of the customers backed his truck onto the sidewalk and the old sign was loaded and gone in an instant. Then we tipped the new sign off the trailer and set it carefully into place. There were BIG smiles all around. This was an exciting day for Yarrow and the Vedder Mountain Cafe...
Tomorrow, I have no doubt there will be something else that is new and exciting. But today is the day the Vedder Mountain Grille got their new sign.
