A project like the MultiCam office is all about hundreds of small details. My efforts and ideas must be coordinated with those of the interior designer, the builder and the owner. A myriad of other trades and suppliers fit into the big picture as well. Tomorrow is the final meeting of minds before the onsite fabrication begins. Changes are much harder to make from here on out.
I’ve been busy in my studio churning out and finishing samples necessary for final approvals. It’s time to bring the artist’s conceptions into reality. Things I don’t often worry about like the color and texture of countertops, flooring materials, and how these things will combine with paint colors and trim details. Everything must be worked out and ordered for the last few weeks of frenzied construction. My shop looks more like a show room with everything laid out in neat order in preparation of tomorrow’s big meeting. This deadline (like every deadline) forces me to get organized and prepared. It’s a good thing.
