In the old days steam donkeys were made from massive timbers. Loggers would fashion two large skids from giant logs, then fasten a plank deck, the boiler and winch mechanisms would bolt to the top.
Like them we start with a strong infrastructure, only ours will be a welded steel frame, over which we will sculpt the giant logs, wooden deck, boiler and winch. Ours will be sculpted from fiberglass reinforced concrete for longevity.
The heavy welded steel frame is now largely complete and we are starting on the pencil rod structure that we will attach the lath and concrete to. The welded frames don't photograph exceptionally well but things are coming along nicely. This thing is going to look massive when we are done.
