I did my first seasonal window splashes when I was in junior high school (at age fourteen) almost forty-seven years ago. When I was in grade twelve a few years later I rented a small commercial space and opened my first sign shop. I recently came across a sketch of the design I had done for the giant sliding door on the front of the industrial building. Even back then it is obvious I wasn't thinking conventional. I'll bet I was trying to figure out how to make that giant door knob dimensional.
