After twenty-four hours of travel, the longest leg being a fourteen hour flight from Seattle, I am now in Dubai. Although I was not lucky enough to score a window seat I could catch glimpses of the city as we landed from where I sat. The airport is immense but the most efficient I have been through. Customs was simpler than any country I have ever entered. Then it was off to the taxi for a mad dash through very busy expressways, even late in the evening and on to a luxurious hotel where I will stay. I managed one blurry picture from the taxi although I saw many landmarks along the way including the spectacular Burj Khalifa, the tallest structure in the world. Tomorrow the work begins. It's going to be a great adventure I'm sure!
