Using high tech to be creative

One of the presentations I am making in Denver this coming week is about how we used our CNC software and router to help us craft our house. Starting with the planning and all the way through structural construction, finishing and detailing of the house I used the software to create many hundreds of digital files and then the CNC router to cut many thousands of pieces. The CNC router allowed us to make the many curved pieces extremely quickly and efficiently. The fact is that the house would have been prohibitively expensive to do without this modern technology. At the time the unusual construction methods caused quite a stir but with our engineers blessing we carried on. I enjoyed my afternoon as I sorted through thousands of pictures as I put my presentation together. I'm looking forward to showing the presentation to the assembly and hopefully it will inspire them to use their software and machines creatively.
