The Hazelnut Inn is undoubtably the most complex structure we’ve built to date. There is a whole lot of engineered concrete and steel throughout. We have cut and welded many, many miles of steel with many more to go before we are finished. The large castle tower roof structure is currently in progress in the shop. Today we substantially finished the welding of the frame and lifted it onto the dolly wheels for easy movement in the shop and to the worksite soon. Jeff cut the bulk of the steel pieces with Matt, Peter and myself doing the welding. It is extremely sturdy and will get more so as we begin the sheeting of the curved roof next week. We still have a little work on the front tower. As soon as that is finished we will begin work on the top tower which will sit on top of the roof. It is going to be amazing to see this giant section of the castle being lifted into place as one assembly. Stay tuned…
