It is always exciting to start a new project, especially when it is something as fun as a ‘gold mine mole’. Our clients at Loco Landing Adventure Park in Penticton encouraged us to let our minds run wild as we designed a new piece of ‘mining equipment’ for their facility. The Gold Mole Mining Co subterranean digger will double as an interactive feature on the adventure golf course next season. It will be busting through the green on the first hole of the golf course. I fired up our CNC plasma cutter today and began cutting steel plate for the pieces I would need. Then I donned my welding helmet and started to weld them back together. By the end of the day the armature for the giant corkscrew auger was taking shape. I can hardly wait to get back into the shop tomorrow to pick up where I left off! Stay tuned…
