Growing up with a brother who is one year and ten days older than I made me extremely competitive. He seemed to do everything effortlessly while I had to really work at it. Later, I realized that competing is much, much more than simply winning. The fun is how you play the game along the way. That can be a whole lot more fun than actually winning - especially if you rattle your competitors regularly. Being a three time defending champion at the Sign Invitational makes it all even more fun. When the theme was announced at the end of last year’s event the ‘game’ was on immediately for this year. Producing my initial concept design within minutes was the first salvo aimed at my friends. Posting regular updates all through the year as my piece progressed were more, geared at having a little fun with my competitors. You can bet I regularly asked them how their entry was coming along. I know they check my blog regularly too. They knew when I finished my piece and with that same game in mind I post this image of me dropping my entry(s) off at the courier. Hopefully their entries will soon be on the way to Florida as well! The competition is now just only six weeks away. :)
