The OGOPOGO submersible we delivered a couple of weeks ago will act as the eighteenth hole feature as well as a delightful photo op and icon. To make it function as a last hole we needed to build a golfing ramp and crate to capture the balls. This crate will be situated under the centre of the OGOPOGO. After considering a few ideas we decided on a gantry style ramp and crate made from plate steel to simplify access and maintenance. Electronic controls will be placed inside the crate as well as a ball vacuum tube to return them to the clubhouse. To ensure a perfect fit of all the components we did the final measurements after the installation of the sub. Yesterday and today I used those accurate measurements to create the final pieces. Just a little more welding tomorrow morning will finish off these pieces.
