Today was the day for yard work. Henry insisted he wear work jeans like grampa and one of grampa’s dirty old work hats too. He pulled it low over his eyes just like grampa. The biggest job we tackled was all of the edging around the many trees. That meant it was time to use the big blue tractor - our favourite! While I cut the sod and packed it into the bucket of the tractor, Henry of course gave me a hand. He handled the very biggest pieces of course. When he wasn’t digging in the dirt with me he was busy ‘driving’ the tractor. The machine was shut off of course and locked out to ensure everyone was safe. He had a grand time playing with the controls and making all the appropriate noises. Henry is a very hard worker and we were busy out in the yard for hours. By supper time both Henry and grampa were tuckered out and ready for a feast.
