After nine long days on the road (to Manitoba and back) it sure was good to get back home again. The yard needed lots of attention and as I mowed the grass this afternoon I got the itch to get busy on a fun project that has been in progress for the last fifteen years (since our first grandchild Phoebe was little). It is time at last to work on the train tracks that will soon go all of the way around our small acreage. Currently the tracks go from the shop to the front of the property and then around the house to the northeast corner. With the soil grading now largely complete on the east side, the tracks can now be laid around that side and back to the rear of the property and shop at last. Henry and Juniper have been begging for a train ride since winter ended. Going just up and down the driveway won’t do. With the grand kids getting bigger and older with every passing day this is the year the railroad really needs to be completed. Grampa has been waiting a very long time for this railroad to be done!
