This past week we replaced our old (and tired) phones with some up to date technology. We settled on the iPhone 11 (we are an apple household). The new phones have a fabulous camera which I am really enjoying. I really love the wide angle feature as it allows me to capture the Hazelnut Inn and other projects so much better as my old camera simply couldn’t fit it all in. With the sculpted concrete work now finished on the lower courtyard, it is beginning to get the first of its paint. We start with a base coat and since the colour of the first coat does not matter this is where we use up all the paint that is left over from other projects. It is used as a sealer and makes the subsequent coats flow so much better. There will be a two or three coats after this plus the glazes. We find a minimum of three coats of paint is well worth the effort as the paint will last so much longer and stay better looking as well. All of the paint is hand brushed on as we find it makes a better job.
