As we designed the Hazelnut Inn the vision for the front gate wasn’t totally clear. Peter trusted himself to sort it out when we got to it. After some exploration of various ideas he decided to style it similar to the bridge posts. It was a busy design that needed a strong post to anchor it. The solution was the broken brick wall complete with a partial arch over the door. The street number is carved into the front bricks. This is going to be spectacular when Becke paints it up!
