Drum assembly rehearsal

The very large Dene drum has been in progress in our studio for weeks. Today, we pulled the last pieces from the shop and then did an assembly rehearsal before it is shipped to the Arctic Circle in the North West Territories. We called on Greg from Wishlow Cranes, our favourite crane operator, to help us out with the heavy lifting. We had pre-cut the permanent braces beforehand, knowing they would require a little trimming for the right fit. The assembly went perfectly. In about four hours we assembled the drum, did the final fitting and welding on the braces and then disassembled it once again in readiness for shipping. Our crew did an amazing job of working together to make the complex assembly process fun and safe. What a team! Grant did the honours of capturing the memorable event on video and did a great job!
