The North Star suite has four different floor levels which creates a very dynamic feel and look. The many levels meant we could play with many different materials and textures as there will be no smooth drywall in this project. Today’s project was the giant horizontal beam at the front of the highest level. A large vertical post was fit into the centre. The Captain’s wheel will be mounted on the back side to form part of the railing. And a heavily weathered vertical post was one the far end. Peter decided all of that wasn’t enough. It needed a little detail as a focal point. So he chiseled a compass rode into the wheel mount which proved to be perfect. This room will be mind blowing when it is done. Stay tuned for more…
