Dangerous Dan's Shark Diving

Matt finished his Sign Invitational entry yesterday just after quitting time. It turned out fabulous! It is a wonderful, story-telling piece with an endless amount of detail. It is called Discount Dan’s Shark Diving. Largely fabricated from plasma cut steel, it was a whole lot of welding and finishing. He also sculpted two figures using sculpting epoxy. ‘Dangerous Dan’ rides the rather bent crane, complete with peg leg and hook. A wet-suited diver is in the well-used shark cage, hanging on for dear life as a giant shark devours him, cage and all. Details abound, from top to bottom, all in service of the fun but morbid tale. The photos were sent along to the folks at Signs of the Times magazine this afternoon. The voting web site will be live at the end of the month showcasing this and other creative entries. Be sure to vote for your favourite when the time comes.
