It was finally time to start the tortoise at last today and I made great progress in a few hours. I started with a sturdy welded steel frame, then set about the rough sculpting. My goal today was to finish the rough form, making sure proportions looked good. With that goal accomplished I can get to the beginnings of the details next. Stay tuned…
