All of the steeply pitched roofs of the Hazelnut Inn look awesome without a doubt. Those same roofs are a definite challenge to work on however. Today, Peter buckled into his safety harness and tied into a permanent hook at the ridge peak which we installed for just such a purpose. Then he clambered up on the temporary toe boards to start the tricky task of painting of the chimney. Those who see it will be sure the chimney is made from real brick but is is actually hand-sculpted concrete. The paint and glazes will ensure the illusion is believable, even to those who get a good long gaze. Once the chimney is complete Peter will begin work on the tower adjacent to the roof. It won’t be long until this facade is picture perfect.
