We are in the midst of a genuine heat wave locally with the temperatures in the 37-42 C (98-107 F) range for the past few days and well into next week. Concrete sets extremely fast, paint dries in an instant and it isn’t at all difficult to work up a sweat. The saving grace is the Yarrow breeze which seems to blow very often. We shift our work stations through the day, chasing the cooler shadows which the tall buildings cast. I grabbed this shot of Matt painting the rocks adjacent to the castle tower this afternoon. We are making great progress despite the warm weather. Recent progress on the Hazelnut Inn has been made in the shade.
