Today was leg day and I got quite the workout. The engineer specified 4” x 4” x 1/4” wall square tubing for this structure. Each piece needed to be measured, marked, coped and beveled before hoisting it into position for welding. To ensure strong joints, multiple passes were done with each welding bead. By day’s end the primary structure for the legs was complete. Tomorrow we’ll add a few gussets and braces before forklifting the robot floor into position. This thing is getting bigger with every piece! Once the floor is in place we’ll begin the pencilled armature. It won’t be long until we are sculpting the details! Stay tuned…
