Yesterday we kept the plasma cutter, grinders and welders busy as we began construction of the M.A.D. (maintenance access device) AKA: staircase for the giant robot. The bases for the two ‘hydraulic cylinders’ are fully welded. Each base plate with the gussets required a little more than 28 lineal feet of welding. This staircase is going to be plenty strong!
