Home made fun

When I was young my dad would invent wonderful ways for us to have fun. We didn’t have a lot of money but that didn’t stop the fun. We dug and poured our own pool by hand where we spent countless summer hours. One winter he built a twelve foot high scaffold and ramp with scrap lumber in our yard for tobogganing. We were the envy of our friends. I’m doing my best to continue that tradition with my grandkids. Yesterday, Henry and Juniper helped me string a biplane from the top of the hill to the bottom, some seventy feet in length. Juniper, being the oldest and bravest was the first to ride and declared the zipline MARVELOUS! Henry, seeing his sister safely navigate the line gathered his courage and headed down as well. They made countless trips through the rest of the afternoon. Today the kids returned and we built a proper launch platform. It, along with the zipline is adjustable to be longer and steeper as their courage and experience grows. The kids got a whole lot of exercise running up the hill for their turns. I suspect it will get a whole lot of use through the summer!
