Fish bones

The first day of building the fish submarine went swimmingly. After some test fitting, plenty of head scratching and lots of calculating it was time to actually cut some steel and weld it into place. I had pre-cut the cross sections of the submarine on the plasma cutter which made it rather painless. These cross sections were slid over the square tubing and then welded in place on sixteen inch centers. As I form and weld on the pencil rod to form the shape of the outer skin I am adjusting things and fudging here and there as necessary to give us a perfect fish. With the hard work now behind us things should proceed quickly from this point. Stay tuned to see the progress…
