Finding treasure in the shop

Henry phoned me excitedly this afternoon, asking if he could come to the shop and use his tools to break open a geode which we had gifted him at Christmas. He donned his safety goggles and with grampa bravely holding the chisel, he pounded away at the tough geode. We started with a small finishing hammer but soon graduated to Henry’s much favoured full size hammer. Eventually, the geode relented and broke into sections revealing the crystals inside. Henry then brought out his magnifying glass to study them at length. When it was time to go home we carefully packed up the pieces so he could show the treasure to his family and friends. It was an exciting day in the shop!
