It is that time of year. Our Christmas tradition is that the youngest kids help decorate our tree. As always, they like to do it in record time. Henry insisted on unfolding and assembling the tree. He’s now old and big enough to pretty much do it on his own, with a little help from grampa. While he did that Juniper was scoping out the decorations with grandma. After the lights were checked out the tinsel garlands were next. Henry raced around the tree multiple times with Juniper and grampa in tow , doing our best to keep things from being totally tangled. Juniper and Henry had picked out six small boxes of handmade ornaments which they then carefully hung on the tree. As they worked we talked about who made each piece. There are almost fifty years of memories on our tree. Then it was time to put the angel on the top… a task done by both kids to keep things totally fair. As quick as that we were ready for Christmas 2023.
