We use a variety of materials and methods as we craft our work. It all depends on what we are building, the level of detail required and the scale of the piece we are creating. More often than not, we use hand sculpted concrete over a welded steel armature. This material is extremely durable and its versatility is virtually unlimited. Through years of experimentation and practice we have developed tools and techniques that allow us to achieve whatever we can possibly imagine. To achieve this level of finish the crew needs to work confidently and swiftly for concrete simply doesn’t wait. The old man tree feature is a great example of our efforts. The talented crew sculpted a variety of woodgrain and bark textures into the massive concrete surface. The shingles curve into complex shapes around the massive, upper branches. While the result looks fabulous in its raw state, it will become pure magic as the paint and glazes are skillfully applied. Nestled into its final home at Castle Fun Park and surrounded by a carefully designed and lush landscape it will be a world of delight for countless guests.
