It's real gold!

The final detail on the entrance tree for the Secret Garden we are building for Castle Fun Park is the dimensional lettering on the sign tucked into the hollow at the top of the broken trunk. We are a big fan of gilding rather than paint. This is done by laying genuine 23K golf leaf into a sticky size that has been painted onto the top of the letters. Gold gathers light and reflects it back to the viewer. There is nothing brighter or more beautiful. As the sheets of thinly beaten gold are laid into the size they are raggedly oversized but this is quickly taken care of by swirling a large, soft brush gently over the letters. Loose gold floats away creating a mini snowstorm of gold. The lettering looked fabulous when Becke was done!
