As often happens in our shop, we become a wildly optimistic and ambitious as we work. Today’s planned schedule was to sculpt only the upper half of the bark on the tree but things went well and we pressed on. Grant and Keith mixed copious amounts of our magic mud and four of us troweled it on furiously. As the first applied concrete began to kick some of the crew started sculpting while the rest still troweled. By mid-afternoon only I was towelling and I soon began sculpting as well. Just before quitting time we had managed to get all of the bark done save for one log on the edge of the golfing green. Tomorrow, will be a well earned, slower paced day as we complete the log edge and putting surface. Friday we’ll sculpt the ‘wood’ shingle roof to ready this magnificent piece for paint. Stay tuned…
