One would think that to build a castle you would start at the bottom and simply build until you get to the very top. We do things slightly differently for a number of reasons. Since our shop isn’t nearly as tall inside as the castle is high this isn’t physically possible. Working at height is also much slower and less safe than when your feet are firmly on the ground. So the towering castle is built in sections, carefully fabricated no taller than eight foot six inches to ensure the pieces easily fit inside a box trailer for transport. Sturdy steel plates are cut with bolting holes carefully aligned and tested to make assembly easier at the customer’s site. Most often the feature will not be fully assembled until it arrives at its final destination. The structural frames and armatures for the upper sections of the castle are rapidly being completed. We will be doing the final sculpting by the end of next week. Stay tuned
