The final piece of the NEB’s Fun World facade to be sculpted is the little tree that will sprout off the bottom of the castle tower. Like most of our creations, the tree is built from a sturdy welded steel frame. Pencil rod is formed for the final shape and this armature is covered with galvanized diamond lath. The branches are fabricated from various-sized steel tubing with the tips being 1/4” inside diameter to allow the foliage to be glued into place. The tree foliage will be harvested from an artificial Christmas tree and then judiciously trimmed and shaped to look like the wild tree we are modelling.
